Air pollution has long been a silent killer, with traffic pollution one of the most potentially lethal health hazards facing metropolitan Australia.
New modelling by the University of Melbourne, shows invisible toxins released from automobiles likely claims more than 11,000 Australian lives each year.
But, as the Conversation Hour discovered, not all towns and suburbs necessarily face the same threat.
